I do my mother in laws taxes and she runs a small cleaning business on the side. She wished to do them electronically this year for a quicker in her pocket Uncle Sam rebate check. I needed to upgrade my tax software for the home and business version, to deduct her expanses correctly, doing so caused 15 errors as over rides which where not. So in fixing this problem I deleted her file for this year and restarted run fine filed her taxes liability was $0 this year, so it never asked about the checking account number and all. The imported tax file had an old checking account as she normally files by mail since she usually owes a few hundred. What do I do now file an amended return? I'm afraid she won't get her check

Oh I'm so DEAD :o:(

That's why I smile when I write the $150 check to my CPA for doing my taxes.

So she was really anxious to get her money fast.... and then waited until April to file?

Bob, the "Tax Man" didn't file, she doesn't handle her own taxes with a business on the side. Besides what difference does that make?

Just sayin, the earlier you file the earlier you get your money. I filed my taxes in February and had my check a week later.

Good luck getting this fixed though, I'm sure there's a way to do it. Maybe when they see the old account is inactive they'll just mail a check instead.

An accountant will know exactly what to do and how to do it. Seriously, that's why they are on the payroll.
