Scored MSB Link DAC III on steroids!!

I already had an MSB Link DAC, so as I researched and gained more info on this unit, I subsequently purchased a Link DAC III with the P1000 Powerbase sometime last year.

The upgrade bug hit (as usual) so I searched for, and acquired, an MSB Link DAC with the Half-Nelson upgrade a few weeks ago.

I didn't even plug the darn thing in when I spotted yet another MSB Link DAC III with the full Nelson option and Dan Wright upgrades plus some extra upgrades PLUS a Monarchy DIP 24/96!! These are the specs:

The Nelson Link III has the following upgrades:

2) Upsampling Board with 96K & 133K options
3) Balanced Input & MSB 192K network input
4) Additional upgrades - 15 Wima PP capacitor bypasses all decoupling capacitors
5) Additional local post-regulator capacitors
6) Additional Digital Power Supply capacitance
7) All noisy 74HXXX chips with grounded copper shielding (aka Dan Wright mods)
8) Eliminate all non essential components (also Modwright suggestions)
9) 2 Nichicon Muse Bipolar caps replacing standards units

P1000 Enhanced Power Supply has the following upgrades:
1) Analog PS has 4 12A FRED diodes replacing standard diodes (Modwright)
2) Digital PS with 8 40A Schottky diodes versus std units (Modwrig

I think that this is a far as I'm going to go with a DAC, because anything else will be way beyond my pay scale and frankly, I don't think I'll hear that much improvement beyond this.

It should arrive next week....I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it!

Yeah, I had gone to bed at about 11:30 pm then tossed and turned till I looked at the clock and it was a little past 1 a.m. So I went back on the computer till 3:15 a.m. and then went back to bed and tossed and turned till my wife got up at 5 a.m. Then I must have fallen asleep because I "woke up" at 5:30 a.m. to get ready for work.

That's great Joe. Nothing like having an audio kid in the family. :D What's ever more patience trying is when you are tracking the package and it is identified as "Out For Delivery" and you need to leave your house for a while.
