I know absolutely nothing about amplifiers, not even how to hook them up to my current home theater system 80/20 movies/music.

Would adding a amplifier make my current system sound better, richer, and fuller?
Or should I upgrade my receiver first?

Yamaha rxv620
RTI-10's
CSI-5
FXI-3
Klipsch RSW12

Thanks

A decent amp would improve the sound of your RTi-10's, no doubt about it. Go for the amp. Forget about upgrading the receiver.

Shop for a used amp on Audiogon. Get a 5 channel 200wpc amp & be done with it.

Look for Rotel, Outlaw, Adcom, Sunfire, Parasound, B & K etc.

Uh Oh! You don't have preouts, so you would have to upgrade your receiver first!
