Wow... That looks terrible. They might have been painted to match something, but even the old school vinyl looks better!

    Probably was due to WAF.

At least he didn't paint the face of the speaker too, that would have been terrible.

Must be some kind of April fools day thing.

OK, here's the deal. He reads a review in a stereo magazine about a speaker that is so good it is said to "disappear". What better way to make your speakers disappear than to paint them the same color as you walls?

I emailed the seller to ask him about the paint job and this is the response I got:

"I'm selling these for my brother. I'm not exactly sure why he had them painted, I believe it was to match the decor at the time (think Miami Vice days)! Were you interested only if they were the wood color? "

could be worse.. they could have replaced the grill cloth with a nice floral pattern or added stenciling to the white paint job.. like they used to do with that country pattern crap 20 yrs ago. blech!

you know the one I'm talking about.... everyone had one or more friends who's wife did their whole house or at least the kitchen in that gawd awful country un-chic pattern with stencils.

Hard to believe the reserve wasn't reached at $26. Holding out for $40 I suppose.
