Please help me finalize my setup!!
Help!!
I need to get some recommendations. I am finishing my basement and would like to complete my home theatre setup.
Here is my hardware:
1) Front L/R : Monitor 60s
2) Center: CS2
3) Rear L/R: FXi A4
4) Subwoofer: Sony dual 10
My questions are the following:
a) I am thinking about creating a 7.1 setup, but my room is only 12 x 20. Does this make sense?
b) Assuming a 7.1 setup, what are your recommendations for additional surrounds?
c) I am considering running wire into a back bar room with a 2-channel or 5.1 setup. Should I run together with a 7.1 and 5.1 wall plate in the front room to create multi-zone capability or should I keep the connections separate with two different receivers? There will be TVs in both rooms, but they will only be using the same source during sporting events and while playing music
d) My current plan is to run wire and plates/mounts in the front room for Front L/R (Floor) and Center (Floor), Back L/R (Ceiling) and Center L/R (Ceiling). Is it worthwhile to also include other optional connections for Front L/R (Ceiling) or Back L/R (Floor) or Rear Center (Ceiling)?
I have confused myself with so many options and just want to finalize my setup!!! At the same time, I dont want to pigeonhole myself because once the room is done, changes in placement become a lot more difficult or a lot less clean.
Thanks for your input!!

Sorry mate, my setup is strictly stereo, I don't know anything about a surround setup.

Welcome. If you room for all the speakers then by all means run the wire. That way it will be there to be utilized when you are ready to do so.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
