Klipsch KSW-15 vs. Infinity HPS-1000

Which one of these is the better sub and what are their street prices (used)? I'm at work, and lack unfiltered web access to research them.

Please do not try to sell me on an SVS - unless you have one for 200.00 shipped for me. Thanks.

I would buy whatever one you get the best deal on, as neither of them is that great.

Care to expand? Does one have benefits over the other? What makes these so inferior to average subs?

They are both average subwoofers.....there's no redeeming quality to expound on.

    You spent $500 on a PS3, but choose to spend $200 on a sub?

I'm not trying to tell you how to spend your money, but I'd personally save the coin you have until you get a few more for a better sub. You'll be happier in the long run. JMHO.

    <Sigh>

This is not for my setup...I simply wanted to know which was better. This forum is generally a great cache of information...but I guess Mike and Dork aren't interested in helping.

Incidentally I DID NOT pay 500.00 for this PS3. 360.00 - craigslist rules.

No, in reality, I'm not. Happy listening!

www.klipsch.com has a user forum as well. I would suggest checking that place out for a question about their products.

Let me see.........you post a question asking what the better subwoofer is. A member tells you to his opinion (which you asked for) -even gives you another forun ink to get other opinions- and you resort to name calling. Classy, man. Get lost.

In your short time here, I am quite sure that you must have noticed how helpful people like Doro can be.

Oh it is Doro - honest mistake like your misspelling of "forum". No name calling. Also he did not give what I asked for. I asked which was better among other questions THINKING those who have experience with the subs or those who could read other websites that I could not at the time, would give a substantive answer. Instead I got an opinion based on apparently nothing as he did not cite experience or readings.

These are incredibly different products. Infact the Infinity is a 3 driver sub. I would think one has benefits over the other. Even IF they are exact same some how in sound quality and value I would think someone with the experience would note that the HPS was monstrous and size alone would be a negative.

I know he has been helpful - this is why I was so incredibly disappointed in his posts on this thread because he could not have been less helpful...unless he would have advised me to get a sub not listed at I expressly asked that no one do.

I have come to expect more of those who post often on this forum, if you are suggesting his contribution to this thread is what I should expect of the polkies I say you are wrong. This thread is not a microcosm of this forum else I wouldn't come here and read so often. Generally the posts and responses are thorough and insightful and everything this thread was not.

Why don't you search for the information you desire when you return to your domicile? Not every answer is going to be the one you seek....such is life. Instead, here you are. Let your fingers do the walking.

It's not that hard to make a choice when it comes to $200 and a subwoofer. Are you shopping for diamonds? There was a member that was willing to trade some for audio some time ago....

I see the problem now. You aren't reading my posts. Sorry for the confusion.

I could not surf @ the time (as noted), but after getting home I did my own research (as noted) and made a decision (as noted).

What the hell is your problem? Were you one of those kids who breast-fed until you were three? Did you stare at the sun for prolonged periods of time when you were a child? Something is just not right with you.

Instead of looking for a sub, I would advise you to seek out some meds to get your weak **** on the level.

Did you pay a subscription fee to this forum to "expect" answers "right now" and only to your liking? Why don't you turn some of your attitude towards those mean and nasty IT folks that are fettering your access to the web-how could they?

    nodeuces,
I may be new to this forum, and perhaps you already have some rivalry or malcontent towards those that did respond, but I can certainly see that you are way out of line with your responses. If you don't like the responses you get, then ignore them.

I can't see why anybody, even if they did have the information you seemingly demand, would want to jump in and help you after your 'attitude' and smartass and retaliatory comments.

Your original question was quite vague and would certainly elicit a subjective response. If you want a very specific answer, then ask a very specific question-I didn't see anybody trying to sell you a sub.

And after a quick search for your username-this appears to be common place for you.

If you don't like my response, then ignore it. No need to respond.

I think whether this is a pay site or not, most polk users strive to give great posts. I would certainly pay for this site if it had fees. I hope you're not suggesting this site is inferior to sites that charge.

    Dude

    Grow some nuts.

You are asking a forum that thrives on SVS, Epik, HSU subwoofers about Klipsch and Infinity, both of which in subwoofers and speakers hold about as much weight here as Bose. (Ok, maybe a little higher.)

You got the response you got because no one knows about those subs, and no one really cares to hear about those.

Sorry you're not satisfied with the responses of this forum. But this is a Polk forum.

Ask us about some Polk subs, see what ya get... :)

I agree Vr. When I am in the market I will buy an SVS or dual polks.

My brother in law wanted a sub for 200.00 or less and I was able to pick up the HPS for right at 200 for him. It will go OK with his CV 15" Towers.

Certainly not!-Where did you get that impression? Did you even read the post?

My statement was based on how you seem to be expecting results tailored to your (vague) specs/requests, as if you paid to get it your way, as if you somehow feel you're entitled.
