is there such a thing as an MW8500 driver?

Do you know if Polk ever put a 6.5 in. driver with the MW8500 designation in any of their classic (late 70's to late 80's) speakers? I have heard of of the MW6500, and MW6502's and MW6503's, but I have never heard of the MW8500.

Thanks,

Jay

Yeah, that is the ebay listing that prompted my original question. They look like MW6500's to me, but the pics are not perfectly clear, so it was a little hard to tell. That's why I asked the question. I need a pair of MW6500's to restore a pair of vintage Monitor 10A's, so I just wanted to confirm my suspicion that these are really MW6500's, and not some MW8500's (that I have never heard of anyway, or at least not for the vintage Polks).

    Hi!
I´m from Argentina, and i recently bought a pair of MW8500, both without usage. Seller says 300W RMS, 8", 8 Ohms.
I need to know if someone have the detailed specs for this drivers. I want to build two subs but i don´t have any data of this little monsters.

    Interesting...
Those RT3000 woofers are really heavy duty.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

They are very heavy duty, and very heavy. Could not believe the low end that came out of them, and how tight they play. I have a Sunfire Signature 12" sub with 2700 watts, and these RT3000 sub cabinets just sound so much more impressive with less power. Until you hear them in person, it's hard to believe what those little 8" are capable of.

Maybe Marian will sell you their's or trade for some subs with specs so they can design their speakers.

Neils, did you try Polk CS?

Tried Polk support, and even asked them if they were willing to make a large batch of those drivers, and I would head up a group buy on here, to make it worth their while, they said no. US has no more MW8500, and I was able to find one last one with Canada. I need 2 right now, and possibly 1-2 as spare, since they are so hard to find.

I wrote to Miriam, hoping he/she is willing to sell them to me, and use the funds to purchase another driver. Anxiously waiting for a response !!
