Which subwoofer
i am entering the ht arena. not alot of cash!!
i have a denon avr-687 receiver 75 watts per channel
polk m20 front
polk R150 rear
polk csr center (maybe a cs2 if i can find for 150ish )
i am looking at a paradigm ps-1000 as the sub
i can get the sub for $350 new, it's been discontinued , thus the price
the room is big 20X14 vaulted ceiling. front & rear are 12 feet apart
is this a good price for the sub?
is this the right sub?
i can replace the r150's with another set of m20's for a few buck more (30)
are the m20's the right choice for the rear & front
thanks

Many, many threads on good subs can be found with the 'search' function.
SVS, HSU, Epik, Outlaw are the usual suspects. Paradigm is not a well known sub manufacturer. The new Polk subs are also respectable. Do a search and get your learn on.My HT

I'm not sure I'd go that far. The Paradigm Reference Servo-15 was a very popular sub with audionerds and critics alike, and was a recommended component from Stereophile as well. I certainly agree with the SVS, etc list given here. But, as always, it is best to choose what sounds best to you. Take a knowledgeable friend, if possible, to check out the Paradigm, Polk, whatever.

For $429.00 + shipp., you can't go wrong. My room is 21' X 13' X 8', with 2 openings to other rooms, and it still literally shakes the house.bms

Just an FYI . I have the relatively new Polk DSW500 sub. I'm happy with it. It probably doesn't have the really tight "punch" of the higher-end subs, but it delivers a good sound at a good price, particularly if you get it on sale, like I did. So, I'm satisfied.
I will be interested in hearing the new Polk micro-sub when it finally becomes available, but I suspect it's going to be much more expensive than the DSW price range. What is interesting to me is that this product has been in 'beta test' with customers for some time, so I hope that it will be tweaked to perfection by the time it's finally for sale.
I have also read good things about SVS, Sunfire and Axiom. There seems to be some good subs out there these days. There is of course, still a lot of crap on the market. But that always been the case.Speakers:
