Yep, 2Bs, the endcaps are a little rough, but the fabric though dirty is intact. They sound exceptional. I'll have to do some A/Bing over the weekend, but first blush, they don't give up much to the 1Cs. Little hissy on the tweets, but they are stock. Sonically, perfect :D.

I won't say...I might want to sell them sometime for what they are worth :p. Maybe I paid north of $400...who knows...I got a free Rob Zombie demo when I was there...very impressive :D.

Congrats. I've been waiting for someone who can tell me how much I would gain by replacing my 2b's with 1c's.

After a bit of MCH and 2 channel music w/&w/o sub, then a couple of movies Dolby True HD and Dolby DD, I've got to say that the differences between the 2Bs and 1Cs aren't night and day. Both are wide, deep and exceptional. The 1Cs fill out the bottom of the midrange and have a bit more strength at applicable frequencies. Bass is a bit more dramatic...all in all...the biggest difference I hear is in the tweets, RDOs vs SL2000s.

I'm pretty jazzed about the 2Bs. I was going to go with an RTA, but these were just too good to pass on. I think they mesh extremely well with the CRS+s.

I'll do some real A/B testing tomorrow, but while the 1Cs are noticably more speaker, it ain't like one speak's taking the other to school...the 2Bs really put the grins on.

Don't worry about the endcaps. I veneered the endcaps of mine with mahogany and they turned out real nice. It was not very expensive and it only took a few hours. A little sandpaper, contact cement, stain and varnish- new speakers. Teak, cherry walnut were among the choices.

After doing some serious A/Bing with the 1Cs, I've come to some conclusions. At first the 2Bs sounded livelier with better separation, imaging and SDA. The 1Cs with the RDOs were smoother, but sounded a bit muffled in comparison. Then I decided to start switching the SDA cable. The 2Bs came with a stock Polk pin/blade and my 1Cs came with a homemade cable courtesy of trubluluc. Well, what a difference...the 1Cs grew taller and bolder...imaging, midrange detail, separation and bass response snapped into place. Luc, you can't make cable :p. I was listening to the 1Cs in less than optimal circumstances. Back to the A/Bing, it quickly became apparent that the 2Bs are close, but no cigar and I started getting fatigued by the SL2000s in comparison with the RDOs. So I'm finally on the tweeter team :)

I put the 2Bs in the surround mode, put the cable on the 1Cs and all is very well in the Temple establishment. I was running the CRS+ full range, but the 2Bs are better in that role. Another improvement in MCH :D. I'll spin a BD later, something with plenty of bass, because I have it now in spades :D.
