I would say go PC, esp if your a non-gamer...its your best option for everything

But if you want a Console

You cant go wrong with a 360 since it has great media and the best game selection.

If you are just looking for a good time and just games, the Wii is a good choice, its pure fun. May not be Hi-def but is so much fun and well games like Mario, Metroid and Nights looks amazing (in terms of what the console can produce) on my plasma TV.

So far the PS3 doesnt have anything out to justify it, to alot of people it is nothing more then a BR player.

If you want to go cheap with good game libraries, the PS2 and the Xbox are good choices, they both have great libraries.

So when all said and done, its a matter of what your looking for...

I've owned every console since Nintedo so I'm always willing to help a non-gamer become a gamer ;)

The PS2 has a huge selection of games, and it's cheap. I don't know how long it is since you were last playing games, but if it was a long time then you might still be impressed by PS2 graphics!

The Wii is supposed to be good with non-gamers though, even grannies are playing it. It also has a "virtual console" that plays older Nintendo games, but I don't know what that costs.

PS3. Built in WiFi. Free online gaming. Works as a media server. Can plug in external hard drives. Blu-ray disk player. Regular firmware updates with real improvements. Internet browsing. The winner in my mind by a landslide.

That about sums it up. You may not game much, but I am sure you would watch blu-rays until the cows come home. PS3 hands down.
