It may sound great but it looks like crap.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

He should hang a sheet of speaker grill material in front of it."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -

That would be cool if he built grill panels that covered the whole setup. You could just tell people it was a wall; then blow them away. -

Gotta hang Bose cubes in the corners to get the full effect.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

I'm on the fence here. Like to hear this stuff, but I'm here to tell ya the SDA's throw a darn good soundstage. I would like to hear a comparison from someone who has heard both. Anyone?

I agree; a good pair of SDAs can't be beat. However, if you're like him and one entire side of your room is speakers, that's gotta be quiet the sound stage too.
I bet you could cover the speakers with a grill, hang two dead Bose cubes in front of them, then play the system and Bose lovers would believe all that sound was coming from those little cubes. "They sound so big!" -
It looks like alot of work went into that system.
But the idea of K.I.S.S is totally lost.
Two speakers, two amps, a preamp...
I bet it sounds as busy as it looks.
Mark me unimpressed.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I think the speakers are bi-amped, that's why there are four amps...polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves
polkaudio 255c-RT Inwalls
polkaudio DSWPro550WI
polkaudio XRT12 XM Tuner
polkaudio RM6750 5.1
Front projection, 2 channel, car audio... life is good! -
SDAs probably image better than that thing, but I gotta go with the wall here. Four 30" woofers would put me in my happy place with pipe organ music. A 32' Bombardon would be an experience through those.
Anyone have a link to that guy who designed an entire room to be a series of horns, filled with woofers? It was driven by something like 25 Phase Linear power amps. -

That wasn't a comment saying that SDAs were an end-all. All I was saying was that you don't need to go that far for a good pair of speakers. SDAs are good speakers and you can do a lot worse. -
That's a far more accurate statement.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
