MMC650's w/MMC6500 crossovers?

I need an informed opinion... I have a set of mmc6500's bi-amped on an Alpine mrv-f345 (75x4 @ 4 Ohms), and I think I'm going to use the crossovers with my set of mmc650's. The '6500 crossovers look to be superior to the stock '650 ones. Am I correct? Also, I'm planning on using an Alpine mrp-f240 (40x4 @ 4 Ohms OR 100x2 @ 4 ohms bridged) amp to power them. Would I be better off to bi-amp them or use the extra power from bridging the amp?

what type of crossover are you using to bi-amp your components currently? Active crossovers will almost always sound better that using passive crossovers (if done correctly)

I'm using the internal crossover on my h/u (Alpine cda-9835) - I have it set up for 3-way output (front rca's - tweeters, rear rca's - midbass, sub rca's - sub), so I have no need for the passive crossovers.

You can use the 6500 crossover for the 650 but all youd really gain is the ability to bi-amp thru the crossover and the 3 position tweeter attenuator. Other than that there wont be a difference.

If theyre rear speakers Id suggest getting a 2 channel amp instead of a 4. You dont want your rear stage overpowering your front stage so you wont really need the extra power from bridging. I think youd be better off with a good 2 channel amp and then level match them with the fronts properly.

50 each would be good. Remember this is for rear fill and you dont want them overpowering your front stage so you wont need nearly as much power. Theyre just there for ambience.
