Hey $475 is too cheap! I have the same amp, and these have balanced inputs also. This is one slamming amp! Real tight hard hitting chest punching bass. Buy this one. Mine is going to cost more. 400wpc at 4ohms. Can handle lower ohms without a problem.

Is this a 2 channel or multichannel amp? How much does it weigh? And does it have volume attenuators?

2 channel almost 60# dampening factor of greater than 1100:eek:

I'm pulling out my hair here. This would be perfect for me and I'm still waiting for my audio budget to recover. I'm trying to think of a way I could afford this right now.

I'd love to have as well. But after a TT Preamp and CDP purchase this month I'm tapped out. Great price, somebody grap it quick.

Somebody tell me, how much better is Adcom than Carver? I am quite happy with what I have but upgrades are always tempting.

Oh no you didn't:eek: Depends on who you ask. This is one of the top 3 best Adcoms produced. I hope this doesn't turn into a debate thread. Wrong place;)

I am not looking for a debate over the two brands so let me be more specific. How much better would this amp be over a Carver TFM-25. I believe the power ratings are fairly close to each other.

I think you are generally going to get the Adcom has the slam, and some are going to say the Carver is more neutral. I know I have not been able to get mine too clip even at 2ohms, and 19 drivers per channel.

great amp at an incredible price! i compared one of these side by side with a 5500(i think they sell for close to $500) and the power of the 5800 blew me and it away, seemed like a lot more than a 50w difference. is it one that was made in the usa?

PM sent as well. This amp is a frigging boat anchor and the only reason I am selling is to fund another purchase. Moving in a new direction (tubes).

I guess I'll be finding out.

Reminds me of a scene from the TV show "Red Dwarf." "Now I know why dogs lick their testicles. It's to get the taste of the food out of their mouths."

About average for a decent amp in this power range. The active cooling keeps the weight down, vs. something like my Heathkit that's 60 pounds of heatsink. A McInotsh would be around 100 pounds due to the autoformers.

On the other end, a trick amp like a Carver will be a lot less. Or a really lightly built conventional one like a Phase Linear. My 200WPC PL400 clocks in at 28lbs.
