4 ohms vs. 8 ohms?

Could anyone tell me what having different ohms means in terms of sound quality? I am thinking of buying LSi series speakers, but people are telling me that my Onkyo 805 receiver might not bring a full potential out of 4 ohms LSi speakers. Thanks!

A 4ohm load increases a quality amps ability to put out more power than at 8ohms. However the increased load can cause problems with most receivers. An external amp is really the only way to get full performance from the LSI series. Bang for buck the LSI series is worth spending the extra money to get an amp for L/R. My personal preference is the 9's for front's. The Onkyo 805 is a popular receiver, and I am pretty sure it has line outs for external amplification. I almost forgot. 4ohms does not make a speaker sound better than 8ohms.
