No maintenance is required on modern CDP's unless it's having read errors or not playing media.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Soap and water.
I'd just blow the dust out with a can of compressed air. -
Yes, many people recommend to pop out the case and use compressed air to blow the dust.

I thought you were supposed to eat peanut butter first.
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
It's obvious: you need new speakers.

I've got a Denon DVD-3300 player that is getting VERY PARTICULAR regarding movie DVD's. I think the laser is getting weak with age and it is skipping. So, I'm struggling whether to send it back to Denon for a laser replacement... or, just chuck it and buy something else. New, the Denon DVD-A player sold for an MSRP of $1200. So, its not exactly disposable. Advice?

Chuck it and buy a used $50 HD-DVD player. You won't miss that Denon if you do.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
