i know ther db1212 is 2 ohm, but is it a dual 2 ohm or 4 ohm voice coil? I think the box is to big for my space in the truck and my amp will only do 4 bridged or 2 ohm stereo. Thanks
Rob

Its a pair of 4 ohm single voice coil subs so when you wire up to the terminal youre getting a 2 ohm mono load. Youre gonna have to invest in a mono amp.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Is it possible to run the rear channels to the sub? One channel for each voice coil?

Sure, but youd have to get into the box somehow. Im not super familiar with it so Im not sure how or even if you can.
I know money dont grow on trees but youd be a lot better off if you could get you a Class D amp putting out about 700 watts @ 2 ohms mono. It would be well worth it.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Thanks for the info. I got a killer deal on this, might just take it back and get a 4 ohm sub and build a box for it. Is 700 watts to much for that sub?

NOOOO! Keep it!! It is an awesome system! Itll put out some serious output and it sounds damn good! Id love to have one and have even thought of using one in my SQ competition setup!
If you got a good deal on it definitely keep it and just get a proper sized amp for it. I GUARANTEE you, you wont be disappointed.
*** we are talking about the DB 212-2 right? Dont think there is no such as a DB 1212polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Oops. My bad. I was thinking of the 212-2. Never heard of the 1212 before.
Ok, dont know about that one. I would assume it would be a DVC. In that case no you cant wire up a stereo amp to a single DVC sub. Youd still need a mono amp for that.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Yeah I think it is the single version of the one you were talking about. I'll start looking for an amp. Thanks for the help.mains: rt16
