It's been a while since I bought some new vinyl. But while I was in Columbus Saturday to get a few things, I happened on a little record store. It's located on High street. To my surprise, they have a pretty good selection of vinyl. So I picked up the 180g Sticky Fingers LP new. Prices of lp's have gone up since the early 80's:eek:. Sounds great though. I may turn into a regular at this place.:D

Great find. LPs have gone way, way up. I set the cap at $75 for a new remastered 180 to 200 gm pressing. I don't think I've actually had to pay that much however.
How the SQ? -
I really didn't know what to expect in regards to the sq. I am surly not disappointed. There was more crackles than I was expecting for a new lp. I did have to clean it up. I think that it has to be played a few time for me to get a feel of the overall sound.

I was watching an Aimee Mann special on HDnet, one of the band member had a T-shirt on that said "choose vinyl for the best quality".
Thought it was cool. This band cares about their music and Aimee is sooooooooo sad. -
That is a great find man.

why is vinyl better than cd or music dvd?

You'll find that most new vinyl needs to be played several times before all the pops go away. They should also be cleaned before the first use. Lots of gunk in the grooves from the manufacturing process.

Joe is right. New vinyl has really jumped in price in the last couple of years. When I started into vinyl about 5 years ago I could buy most new albums slightly cheaper than I could the CD. But now most vinyl seems to be quite a bit more than it's digital counterpart. I think in most cases it's still worth the premium, but it is a little frustrating.HT

What a technical response , you must be soooo smart
He isn't so smart, its really because I said so.
Think of it this way, if you look at sampling rate an lp is at infinity.
