The 16 wpc stereo amp. I may not order one for a couple weeks but I really like this kit. I am thinking I will build it to look like a Jolida amp. I would also be interested in trying to find a switch for another source or 2.
How do you think it sounds and does it have enough power?

I think it has well enough power and I really like the sound. It's almost impossible to get 32 tube watts for less money which was one thing I liked about the kit. I think the manual even states that the amp works with 4 and 8 ohm speakers. IMHO, it just doesn't sound good for a kit, it just sounds good for an amp. You probably couldn't buy an amp like it for under $1000. I have not played around with a lot of the real HIFI equipment that a lot of you have, but I like the sound better than my Carver, Outlaw, or Audiometric. It's worked flawlessly with my 4.1TLs, 2As, and RDO Monitor 5Jrs. With a higher efficiency speaker than Polk, it would obviously perform better, but even the 6 ohm, 90 dB Polks sound great.

The S-5 amps exploit "plinker" tube types -- tubes produced in large numbers (generally for TV) that are not widely recognized as worthy of hi-fi. Zillions of such plinkers are still available cheap (although a successful design will deplete the "NOS" marker, as happened with 11BM8s).
FWIW, their earlier K-12 stereo amp (11BM8) version was/is quite nice for its very modest cost.
An earlier thread shows the later 10GV8 version of this amp.
