The HDDVD movies still play fine though, and for many titles, there is no Blu equivalent. Why not save 50%? Honestly, if Blu doesn't lower their prices to under $25 for every movie, they are not going to survive either.

Bill, c'mon now don't tell me you took my post seriously. I've tried to be the voice of reason around here when it comes to HD DVD, was just mocking all the BluRay fanboys a little, that's all.

Remember those HD DVDs are hazardous, you need to send those to me immediately.

    Poor memory I guess.
I guess we agree that the thing to do is HOARD them movies while they are still AVAILABLE and CHEAP!

I agree. Why not grab movies for around $10 - $12 on HD DVD and probably cheaper then wait when they are on BR and pay $29.99 for them.

Toshiba is sending your 10 free movies? Why? the offer was for only 5 free movies with the purchase of one of their HD DVD players.

Got to a CC Monday night. HDDVD reduced to a small bin. Luckily, I found Shooter in there for $15. Everything else was gone.

Yes, the regular prices are $35, $30, and $24 so even at sale prices there are better bargains out there if you hunt especially online. No, I don't know of any current online deals.

Should've picked up Smokin' Aces. Maybe I'll pick it up tomorrow.

    Happy Hunting.

Thanks for the heads up. I've got to grab Shooter on HD-DVD. . .

I think I've rented it twice on HD-DVD through Netflix already. May as well pick it up for good on HD-DVD.

Thanks also for letting me know my HD-DVD players still (probably) work. I've been afraid to use them the past few weeks after hearing HD-DVD was dead. Thought that, if they worked, it would mean they were "undead" and would probably go zombie on me. I've been too busy worry about flesh wounds and impending zombie-ism lately to risk it.
