I just got an e-mail from an old Friend..

The old band is getting together in a couple of months for a reunion gig...about 100 people in attendance so far, and many of them are now professional musicians....I am not !!
I stopped playing (drums) many years ago, but never gave up my love , as you all well know, for music.....and all things music...:p

I need to get a set together and try and get some of my chops back before I am totally embarrased in front of a large crowd of family and freinds...and many folks that are just there for the "Day of Music"...since I haven`t picked up the stiks for many a long year !

So I need to get some $$ together quick...so....

I rate her a solid 8.5 on the Gon Scale...(a small nick on the volume dial)

Cary V12 Tube amp
This is one for the books....an outstanding tube amp IMPO
100wpc....balanced/Unbalanced outs
8ohm and 4ohm taps
...she has a small nick on the back edge, but you wouldn`t know it unless it as pointed out

I would give a 9, but I bought it used, so I will give her a 8.5..;)
Jag Red / Black Face
SED "C" wing ...SVEL34 output tubes w/ many long hours of play left on them (about 7 months old)
JJ`s for the front end...

I have a set of Electro-Harmonix KT88`s also, but I know one is bad and needs replacement ...these are about the same age as the C-Wings
They are great sounding tubes with this amp....more powerful than the EL34`s
These have electro harmonix front end tubes also (EL84 & 6922`s respectively)

Nakamichi ST-7 Tuna

Some say it`s the best Tuna ever made

The tuning knob shaft was bent in shiment when I bought it a few years ago, but it doe not effect the sound or the functions....it it very fixable on the cheap from what I understand..
For this reason only I give her a low 8 on the scale..

She is one of my all time Tuna`s
She has a dent on the top cover fom a shelf falling on it, and a few nicks on the top right hand edge of the faceplate...hardley noticeable..

I will put a new top on her for an xtra $50, or you can get one from Parasound yourself, as they are still available...

    sounds like the cary amp thats running through her....rich , full , clear, powerful.....neutral

    the tuna?
    very clear reception....strong signal
    not quite digital, but not analog either....definately not steril, but not real warm either...it`s kinda cool, if that makes sense

    I gotta say, this amp is a great unit.....if your into tubes, this is highly recommended


    If things work themselves out, I`ll keep her in rotation.....if not, well someone will be getting a hell of a deal..!

    That's some great gear.....the Cary V12 is pretty cool, underrated and visually, very impressive to see in person.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
