Center speaker

When setting up your center speaker and you set the distance in feet from your listening area. Are you suppose to set the distance in the controller a couple more feet away to give it some kind of effect. I thought I read that somewhere. Like if say it is 12 feet would you set it for 15 or is thier a better way.

    Those settings determine the time delay for when the receiver sends information the speaker, and are used to correct difference in speaker distance from your seating position. The values are relative to each other, so if you doubled every value, you'd get the exact same results. This is not the same as adding a processing effect or something that's going to give you the feeling that you're in a huge hall -- you can use one of the DSP modes of your receiver if you want that type of effect.
