Looks cool and if it follows the graphic novels well, the first Hellboy movie was just setting everything up for a hell of a story!

Never read the novels but if it is even half as good as the first movie I'm definitely seeing it.

I still watch the first occasionally. It seems like an undiscovered movie with a lot of people.

Yeah... Hellboy 2 in 1080p = WOW. Visually, this was one of my favorite movies of the past year, and it looks jaw-droppingly good on my PLV-Z2000 projector. And the surround sound is outstanding, with some serious LFE for bass lovers.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights

    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor

Watched this today. Thought it was okay. The Guerrmo influence is definitely all over this film. . . and, in my opinion, so over the top that it detracts away from the plot of the movie.

I'm sure kids will like this one, though. I liked quite a bit of the acting and action, but some elements were overdone and the plot just seemed like an excuse to show more ghoulish creatures.

Decent, but thought it could've been better. 6.5/10 in my book. Action was pretty cool and sound effects were great.

The DVD is being released today officially. Same for the blu-ray also (I think). The place where I rent from sometimes lets me snag the new releases a day or so in advance, if it's available. But I didn't tell you that if someone asks. ;)

I just picked it up. I thought it was being released next week. I am really looking forward to this, 1080p and a 7.1 DTS-MA track.

Just watched this on BD and the transfer is amazing. DTS MA at its best, and the LFE shines. You guys with dual, or should I say mulitple subs are in for a real treat. My SVS subs had the HT room rocking, LFE everywhere and the battle scenes are awesome, must own.

I agree. It was ok but I doubt I will watch this one over and over like I did the first one. The effects were great but the plot got lost at least 2 or 3 times. The acting was well done though and that helped keep you interested.

Watched it last night. Wife loved it. Much better than the first one, IMO.

I rarely watch movies a second time, but might watch this one again 'cause I'm without a center channel at the moment and didn't get the full imact of the surround sound.

Light entertainment, great PQ/AQ, but ultimately not up to par with the other superhero movies of last summer, IM & Hulk. It seemed short and lacking any real suspense or drama. The humor was pretty good. del Torro during the extras raved on about the art and set design, nothing about the content and it showed.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO

Hellboy II was a fantasy flick rather than a superhero movie, IMO. In fact, Hellboy was not really the central character of the movie. All the other stuff going on around him is what made the movie appealing. That's why my wife loved it. If it were a superhero movie, she wouldn't have been impressed by it.

Damn, that movie looked like it cost a ton of money to make.

Rented this the other night and while it was a good movie I was disappointed. The action and acting was good and everything but the plot got kinda lost a couple of times and it kinda reminded me of Star Wars Episode 1 where Lucas relied way too much on CGI. Now Im one of the biggest fans of CGI but in this movie it almost got "cartoonish". And Im for equality and tolerance and all that crap but a fish in love with a chick was just a little too gross. Im just glad they didnt have a love scene. Yuck!

Still a good movie and definitely worth watching I just doubt Ill ever buy it or watch it again unless its on cable or something.

    6.5 out of 10.

is it any good? I like the first one, but u know what they say about second parts.... the trailer looked good, but sometimes trailers end up being better than the movie itself

The trailers didn't give you much at all. This film is equally as good, if not better then the first.
