Hi guys,

I just started setting up my home theater system in my living room.

Currently I have an Onkyo 705 for my reciever, Monitor 70's for my fronts and a CS2 for my center. Right now its only a 3.0 setup, sub and 2 surrounds coming soon. I probably will never go with 7.1 so i thought i would use the reciever's capabilty and bi-amp my fronts.

I cant find which terminal on the speakers is the 'high range' and which is the 'low range'.

The Receiver Manual shows the following:
  • Connect the Front Receiver Outputs to the High Range Speaker inputs
  • Connect the Surround Back Outputs to the Low Range Speaker inputs
  • Via the Onkyo manual the diagram has the speaker's high input on the bottom, and low on the top.

I could not find this info anywhere on the Polk speaker manual... I want to make sure this correct before i turn it on.

Thanks for any help!

I had the same confusion with my Rti10s. In MY case, the Onkyo manual had them reversed. The high input is on top for the Rti10s. In YOUR case I cannot say for sure. However, the Rti10 manual does have a diagram for bi-amping. I would be surprised if the Monitor 70 manual does not also? Good luck!

The top pair of binding posts is always the high-frequency for modern Polk loudspeakers.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
