What type/power of an amp should I look into?

I have RTi10's and the CSi3. My rears/surrounds (for the moment) are some old Onkyo speakers i had from HTIB 3 years ago. Eventually I am looking into something along the FXI3 and RTI4 for replacements, when the funds are available. What is a good but inexpensive amp for this? I was thinking about the Onkyo M282 but havent read many good things about it.

Would I be best served just getting a 2 channel amp and only worrying about the fronts for extra juice, or going for a 5/7 channel amp?

    you could go monoblocks up front, if youre happy with the AVR driving the other speaks. Or yeah you could go multi-channel and be done. Look into Adcom, Parasound, Arcam, Sunfire, Outlaw, Bel Canto, D-Sonic if youre wanting to try ICEpower, Rotel, the list goes on. Signalcable for your interconnects also. Most of us here would recommend, used since you can get a great deal on them, www.audiogon.com is your friend. Good luck. A solid 200wpc should do the trick. Though others will chime in on that part.

    check out Emotiva.com they have some nice stuff. I have the rpa-1 on my front mains which are Rti-12's.

    +1 on sherardp, i just stepped up to 250wpc on my front LR and another 500 watts on the center. there just is no comparison to good amplification. i dont think your gonna really go wrong with any of the good names in amps. just as long as you have a decent amount of good clean power. i have adcom amps on my setup and i couldnt be happier. my brther uses all parasound amps and i am very very impressed with them. if you want something at a good price you could go with a little bit older adcom. i picked up a couple gfa 555 (250wpc) for about $300 a piece.

    I've got 4 rti10s (mains and surrounds) and a csi5. I was previously using 3 Outlaw M200s to power my front stage and then my AVR to power my surrounds. I just purchased an Emotiva XPA5 (200x5) and love it! You could probably get by without a 5/7 channel amp if you didn't want to spend the money because your future rears don't need as much power as rti10s, but more/better amplification definitely wouldn't hurt!
