BR readers seem to be hypersensitive to any sort of disc issues in my experience.

I was in a store the other day that I took a BR disc from one machine, put it in another machine to test a different TV, and for 20 minutes had to try the disc because it wouldn't read. It finally did after cleaning it several times..........it was annoying to say the least......

thanks for that info. my harmon kardan DVD25 is also extremely finicky where scrathes are concerned. Throw in the fact that is cant play the latest Sony Pictures movies due to copy protection changes, and it can be very frustrating.

I was considering getting the PS3 to replace my HK...and I still am. But this is nice to know.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I concur with Brett. The slightest smudge on a BR disk and the PS3 refuses to play it.

that must be some inbuilt problem, bcoz i have been PS3, and have been addicted to it.
would recommend if its under warranty go and show it to him
