Just picked up a pair from a vintage clothing store going out of biz. WoW!! Somethings real nice, too much on your ears on others. These may replace my SDA CRS. They have everything the Polks don't, except.... comments afforded.

FYI - These are driven by a 1963 General Elctric PP tube amp using 7189A

I like my Cornwalls alot. 1986 vintage. I run them with an Onix SP3 tube amp. They would proably benefit from a crossover update but still sound nice to me. Enjoy them.

I'd love to hear a pair sometime. I've heard the old Forte II's and they were fantastic, especially their dynamics. You might want to try some t-amp power and see how they hold up ;)

Oh, pics! Show us some pics!
Lovin that music year after year.

I've used my Sonic T with the Cornwalls and they sounded great. It's amazing what a $30 amp can do.

I have a pair of Cornwall I from 1982 (new woofers, new caps, Crites tweeters). I constantly rotate them with a pair of La Scala. I connect them to a 3w/ch set amp using a passive pre amp. The bass on the Cornwalls is unreal.

If your pair is getting close to 20 years old, it's a good idea to get the capacitors on the x-over replaced. The caps leak and their values change. Bob Crites from the Klipsch forum can help you out. He sells replacement caps and tweeters, etc. The caps I got from him were Sonicaps. Everything just opens up when the speakers are back in original specs. Congrats on your find. Nice to see other CW owners here.

    Yup, that sounds like Cornies.
Had a pair of 1974 Cornwalls for about a decade; recently replaced with early Altec Valencias.
A push-pull EL84 amp is a very good match for Cornies, IMNSHO.
Bob Crites has some... interesting... ideas about what works well with Klipsch speakers, but the Sonicaps he sells for refreshing the XOs are a very good choice IME. He's a good source to buy them from.

When I was in high school (1986) my best friends older brother had them hooked to a NAD setup. I don't know if it was the grass or how loud he used to listen to "Those shoes" but I swear he came out braindamaged:D
