Hey whats up bought some new stuuf and have a question. I bought a Velodyne DD15 Sub woofer. How is the best way to hook it up. I tried hooking ot up the way my old sub was hooked up. This is from the balanced out from my controller to an RCA single plug on the back of the Velodyne. I get sound from old sub nothing from new sub. Do I need the two RCA's in. I see the sub has a balanced plug also, would that be worth to buy. Just got it last night from Hippos not to much time to play with it. Sub is on in the Controller. Dont know why no sound from sub. I also bought a Sony 52" bravia XBR LCD and a LG blue ray ,hd player cannot wait to get it all hooked and working. Thanks for help

Just plug the balanced out from your controller???? to balance LFE input of the sub. What HT receiver or Preamp are you using?

I am using a Parasound Halo C-2 Controller and A-51 amp. I spoke to Hippos they told me to try to turn the subwoofer crossover off that the controller may be conflicting with it. They recommended the balanced out also. Have to get a cable.

The DD15 is a great sub, but I would think balanced to RCA would still work. Theres a Velo support thread on AVS you might try if you're still having problems. Also, I can't remember, but you might need to run the DD setup, auto anyway, to initiate things.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Do you have a balance to balance cable? Then use it. If not use a single rca from the sub out of your C-2's 7.1 output section or the sub out of the main output to the LFE rca in.

    Have fun,
