i already read the comparison thread. But i wanted to know yalls opinion based on this situation. I have 4 RTI4 as my front and rear speakers. I just bought a CSI3 for 128 and now have a chance to get a CSI5 for 200. Are the 5 going to sound over 70 bucks better (roughly 54 percent?) better then the 3. And if the 5 would timbre match well with my RTi4 for movies. I am 80 percent movie and tv. the room is only about 10.5X10.5 with low ceiling.

The 3 is probably a better match for your speakers anyway - the 5 would just blow them away...

3 matches, and is a great speaker for the money

I run the Csi5 with the Rti4's and it works great with them. It hardly "blows them away" Granted I'm only driving them with a 80w AVR, but I wouldn't give my Csi5 up for a Csi3.

$200 is a great deal as well. I bought mine new for $230 before christmas through Amazon, but most of the used ones I've seen lately have sold for $230+ (or $275 currently in our flea market)
    My Home Theater (WIP):
    Panasonic AE900 Projector - 126" screen, XBOX 360, Pioneer BDP-320 Bluray
    Receiver: Denon AVR-1905
Fronts: RTi6's, Center: CSi5, Surrounds: RTi4, Rears: Denon
Dual Subs: PSW202, and behind the couch Denon 8"

thanks for the comments and/or voting. i am leaning on getting it now, since after watching a couple movies i realized how much the center channel is working. CSI3 is great, now i have to test out the csi5 if its justifiable.

I was going to say no, stick with the csi3 until I saw the $200 price tag on the 5. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Keep in mind the csi5 is a much much larger center so it will take up more space up front that may screw you over with tv or electronic placement.

CSi3 already seems louder for me. I have to set the center channel to -2db to match front RTi4. YMMV.

That was my issue when I bought it, I couldn't fit the 5. S I bought the 3 and pumped it with 200w ;). When we work on the HT room, wallmount the Plasma, I will buy the 5, only cause I can now. But the 3 was/is a great speaker.

fortunately i think the better judgment got to me, and i will keep the csi3. I think its more logical to save the 70 dollars and put it towards a new sub. I have like a 10 year old DCM sub :( . And as Micheal pointed it is alot bigger then the 3 and this is going into a ~900 square feet bedroom. Also the reason why its cheap is because its the floor demo and its cherry color. If you live close to a tweeter, you can check out their clearance items here: http://tweeter.com/clearance/ Theres a few Rti's Csi but with odd colors (white and no so odd cherry). Good luck if your searching for one and thanks for everyone input. Also if your in houston, the csi5 is located on the westheimer location.

I bought a 3 to go with my m10b's. I bought it because it sticks out as far from the wall as my plasma, it was the wrong reason to buy it. I wish now I would've bought a 5.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

No question about it......get the 5....think you will find it much fuller and less boxy than the 3. It should really improve sonic quality of dialogue and give it more realistic presence.
