Quick Interconnect cable opinion request

I need to hook up my prepro to my amp (5 channels)
I also need to connect my SACD to my prepro (6 channels)

As far as I can tell this uses standard audio RCA cables for either connection.
right?

I don't have much budget left for expensive ICs, so I am trying to keep it low, especially since we're talking about a dozen cables!! I can always upgrade later

Anybody have any thoughts on the Belkin PureAV Silver audio cables?
Buy.com has them for about $20 ea.

Also, should I worry about length? I am looking at the 4', but from some sellers, the 8' is only $2 more-Just wondering if I might be asking for interference with a loinger cable. It would be nice to have the extra play.

And while I'm on the Belkin topic-Any thoughts on the PureAV Bananas and Spades?

Thanks

MM, that's right; the usual coaxial cable with an RCA plug on each end is what's needed for all the connections, and there's no need to be concerned about interference being picked up by a slightly longer cable.

There's no good reason to pay anything near what those Belkin cables would cost, and if you'd like them a little longer than 4' , six pairs of these 6' cables would be fine for a total of about $16. Also, there'd be no need to "upgrade" them in the future, since no upgrade would be possible except in the amount of money that you'd spend. As many audio consumers have learned by dealing with MonoPrice and others which sell at reasonable prices, there's no correlation between the price paid for cables and the sound quality of their setups.

Interested-but I'm not sure 3' is long enough. Let me check.

Their description is shown as 75 ohm coax cables-I thought only video cables were 75 ohms?

    but, I guess I can't go wrong for $16-
    Thanks

I hate when people say these things as if they were confirmed facts. An "IMO" here and there would be nice...because this is just that, YOUR opinion.

    http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/IXOSXHT503200/IXOS/XHT503-6-CHANNEL-SACD/DVD-A-AUDIO-CABLE-2M/1.html

this is 6 RCA 2 meter (6ft) cables all bundled into one thick cable.. that would help cut down on the back of your system becoming all cluttered.

it's the one I use. and for the price, you can't beat it really. the length is right for your application.. check it out.

At first I thought you were talking about these which are $20 each and actually are silver...not just called silver.

For cheapies I usually recommend Monster. Their basic THX line works well, for $15 you get a 4ft pair of interconnects that are of decent gauge, are well shielded, and use their gold turbine cut connectors for a solid grip. You could get 6 for $45 + tax from a local store, and could probably get them cheaper online.

I swear somethig is going on. This is now the 5th post reply in the past week or two that seems to have gone to never never land. Anyway, I can't exactly remember what I said-I have to think about it and I'll post again later...

In summary though-Thanks for all the suggestions----
I will try a couple cables out, and perhaps just buy a pair of some others just to try out. "I want to hear for myself."..
When I get them and try them all, I'll post back with my opinions.

    Face, I sent you a PM-if they're still avail...

    Thanks

The Belkin Pure AV interconects are good quality, similar in build quality to the low-mid end Monster products. I am using them on a secondary DVD player.

Update-Well, I wrangled up some budget and decided to get a few cables and try 'em out and see if I can hear any differences for myself. I'm not about to go cheap, but I'm also not willing to spend a fortune (unless it will realy make that much difference (to me), so I'll start out reasonable and do some listening tests.

I went with a set of the Monoprice Premiums; a set of the Cryotweaks Silvers ($109 for 7-I had to try out some silver's at this apparent budget price-also want to test them out with my XPA-5 to see if I experience a known issue with silvers); I still may get the Belkin PureAVs and some mid level Monsters-at least a pair of each to do some listening testing.

Some of the other choices were either to expensive (for the budget-especially without any listening tests first), too bulky for my setup, or I simply had to make a decision somewhere..

I'll post back with my observations.

Actually I was listing several cables. I see now though that could have been read differently.
The Monoprice cables I got are here as John K linked to. (I'm still waiting on their delivery-ugh!)
The Cryotweak Silvers I got are here at TweekGeek as Gaara linked to.

Its OK to me, seems like a relavant question in this dormant thread.

I haven't tried the Cryotweak silvers yet. However they appear to be well built with what looks like a quality RCA connector. They even shipped them with a plastic sleeve around the connectors to prevent them from getting dinged up-To me its a nice touch to show they care about quality. Of course they don't come in a fancy schmancy velvet lined gift box. Hmm, does that mean they won't have that fancy schmancy velvety sound? ;)

I am currently using the monoprice ones I got (for both the SACD to AVR and the AVR to the amp). I got the 6 footers so I would have an easier time-I have my equipment in my entertainment center which- well is not really designed well for the equipment-I have no rear panel access, etc. So I have to pull the avr or the amp out to access the rear and doing that requires cables longer that 3'.

The Cryotweaks are 3'. I plan to try them out on my SACD to AVR setup and compare, but not until I get the whole system tweaked to my liking and more importantly not until I get more familiar with the sound as a baseline.
The 3 footers will just work with some maneuvering-I am just changing things a bit much right now to fuss with 3' cables.
