I have been thinking about building a Flexi-Rack but I cannot get my brain around having 2 supports on the left and 1 on the right side.

My brain is telling me 2 supports in the front and 1 in the back.

Am I missing something?

It's better to have supports on the sides to allow room for large(deep) pieces of equipment, cables, power cords, etc...

They can have four posts too, just harder to level that way... But that's the beauty of DIY, you can make it however you want.

I would put a post right smack in the middle of the entire rack.

Mark, Can I borrow your amp to beta test? I will insulate that center post with some garden hose or something. I'll put it on the bottom shelf so it doesn't Humpty over and dent the chassis.

I still like my idea of 2 in front and one in the back.

    Absolutely.

I agree Scott, as it makes more sense to me as well. If you have gear that doesn't fit on a flexy-rack, you're beyond using a flexy-rack.....and it's time to move on.

I've noticed a good majority of gear has the power supply on the left side so having three legs there makes more sense. Then again, mine has four legs since I didn't think three would be enough support for the fragile shelves ;) And yes it takes a LOT longer to put together and level.

It's actually more stable with the legs on the sides, IMO. If you got back to people about your availability for hanging out, checking out RCM's, and generally ejoying this hobby of ours, you might have already seen a stellar example of one. ;) For now, you can look at it on the internet.

Nah, I haven't come up with a date, either; I'm just giving you a hard time. How's next weekend look for you?
