Polk Audio Monitor 50
I need to upgrade my speakers and was looking for some floor standing speakers so I didn't need to buy tacky metal stands as well and I came across the Monitor 50's.
Are these speakers suitable for front and surround?
I was thinking of getting 4, $130 each, and a PSW125, $350.
Thanks in advance.

Sure, why not? There are more options for sub in your price range, though.

What subwoofer do you suggest then?

I have these in my surround system as rear channel speakers and they are quite suitable IMO. About an hour ago I hooked them up to a vintage Kenwood KR 9600 receiver, Luxman DC-113 CD player and popped in Supertramp's Breakfast in America. I was not expecting them to sound very good but, damn, they sound great as front channel speakers. The bass response is better than I expected. Granted, I did have the loudness switch on but even with everything flat and the loudness switch off, they still sound great. The meters were peaking at 50 watts (really loud) and there was no distortion whatsoever. Nice speaker!SDA SRS 2.3TL's

MIght want to check out elemental design for your sub choice. If you do some research there are many subwoofers in the 350-400 price range that will possibly give you better results.

I'm about to order the monitor 50s, but I'm still confused about my center. I'm not sure if I should go with the CS1 or CS2. I just purchased a condo and money is a bit tight, but I rather spend more and be at peace I made the right choice.
What do you guys think?
