New HT/music room

Hey people! I have been blessed with the chance and the go-ahead from the wife to re-vamp my basement to make a dedicated ht room. I have included 2 pics with a couple options i'd like some input on.

First. Top view pic. The solid lines are walls already in place. The dotted wall A and wall B are the two options i have to place a wall to isolate the room. Wall B would give me room to have a chair where i have indicated which would be nice...giving me more seating. Only problem there is then the room is not perfectly rectanglular and might affect the sound.

Where i have indicated "tapered corner" is already done. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do that to all the corners? It wouldnt be too much work to do.

Second is "side view" of the room looking at the ceiling. Where i have indicated "furnace ductwork" runs the width of the room from wall 1 to wall 2. I have the option of building it straight across where i have dotted line A?. If i go that route...the total height from floor to ceiling above the couch would be 6'8". Or i could just leave it as is and run the risk of having sound being trapped up in that space in between the ductwork and the back wall.

The area in front of the couch from floor to ceiling is 7'8" to the finished ceiling. Where i have dotted line B? I thought i could take out the sharp corner where the ceiling meets the ductwork tapering it across the width of the room. This might help sound or it could be a waste of time. Would probably look good though especially if i taper all the corners of the room too.

Another option would be to run suspended ceiling across the whole ceiling at the bottom of the ductwork leaving it all one height. But then all i have is 6'8' of ceiling height.

Any input would be great as i will only be doing this once and would like to do it right. I value the knowledge and experience of the folks on this forum.

One last thing. I have not decided what to put on the ceiling ie: suspended tile, gyprock, wood, etc. I would like to use something that will look decent and help somewhat with room treatment.

If it were me, I'd leave it rectangular 12 x 18. If there's an angled corner in one of the rear corners, I'd do the same thing on the other rear corner to make it uniform but I would not angle the corners in the front, I'd leave them alone. The only way I'd do wall B in the second pic is if I built some shelfs or something into it.
I'm not sure what I'd do for the ceiling. 6'8" is pretty low. Especially if you had some tall friends :D

Thanx for the reply. I forgot to mention that the entrance to the room will be on wall A or B. The door on the back wall is for a storage room so virtually no-one has to walk at the back of the room.
