I recently picked up some new speakers that I am currently running using the multi-room feature off my HT reciever, but now I have 4 speakers so I will need a stand alone reciever just for music. I bought a Denon avr-1700 but it was badly damaged during shipping. It was $100 shipped. What would ya'll suggest for something $150 or under? Is a HT reciever the best choise or a Stereo receiver? Thanks!

Check out Harman's e-bay store. You can pick up a refurbished HK-3480 or 3485 for around that or less. They come with a full warranty like a "new' one. We have a 3480 running my daughter's system and its great for the price.

Yap. Absolutely agree with DaveMuell. I just read some A/V receivers reviews at TestFreaks and found nice model which will 100% satisfy your needs. It's Harman/Kardon HK 3480. It uses VMax technology, a technique that uses signal processing to simulate a sound surround arrangement using only two speakers

Post 2 and 3. You will pay a little more when shipping is included, but it is definitely worth it.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
Ben
