Ok, first off I'm not really a newbie to audio or analog but I was into analog before the world went digital and now I want to go back. I'm looking for a decent reasonably priced (budget allows only a couple hundred dollars to start) turntable with cartridge and stylus. I will need a cheap phonostage as well until I can get a dedicated two channel amp. Please don't flame me for my ignorance or lack of financial resources. Is there anything at all new in this price range or should I look for used? Recomendations please. I've become completely addicted to DVD-Audio and SACD multichannel music but would like to experience the amazing fidelity that vinyl has to offer again. Let the continuous upgrade spiral continue!!! I'm all ears.

A good place to start would be here:

    http://www.needledoctor.com/Online-Store/Budget-Turntables

Great deals abound for used turntables, they are all over the place too. eBay, Audiogon. Craigslist, and right here on this forum. People here are very helpful and you picked a great spot to pose your question.

Phono Preamp - From what I hear in the cheap range the Bellari is awesome unless you are confident in soldering then I hear you should go for the Bugle which some of the other members elected to go for and can chime in. However, remember if you catch a bad case of upgraditis then neither of those 2 will be sufficient anymore depending how much you want to upgrade. You can get a Jolida JD-9a tube phono stage for $416 brand new from UnderwoodWally on Audiogon and I highly suggest it. Check my other thread for details on it.

Turntable - In your price range, Project Debut III or splurge a little more and get the Rega P1. I know Face has the Rega P1 so you might want to ask him a few details.

EDIT: Everything can be found at www.needledoctor.com except for the Jolida phono stage but I think that is more than you were looking to spend.
