So, what does the Polkie world think about Apline car audio equipment? I recently installed an Alpine CDM7874 receiver with BBE processor and bass engine in my '99 Contour. It even made my cheapie factory speakers sound better. Sunday I'm installing both front and rear EX368's. I'm very anxious to hear how ot sounds with these babies.

I just got an Alpine 7894 put in my car yesterday. So far I like it a lot. I don't have Polk speakers yet, but I probably will eventually. :)

only receivers (under 600 dollars) i liked better than the alpine was the original kenwood Excelon decks -- those were some "hella-nice" decks. although i must say the new excelon does not live up to its predecessors.

as far as drool-factor, i'm still waitin on the generation II F1Status from alpine.
