I just did a repair on this Adcom. It needed new jacks. DC offset has been tested, and the bias. A couple of nicks (minor), and a couple of smudges that probably can be cleaned. $200 plus shipping. Notice the new much higher quaility jacks than stock.

Last pic is with a flash to help exagerate the top imperfections.

Is this a refurbished unit? Warranty? The paint looks like crap. Do the fingerprints cost extra?

No. I repaired the input jacks with much nicer than stock new ones.

Read my sales history, and maybe some who have bought amps will chime in.

Ben, I like your amp stacking technique. I wonder if you stack like that for heat displacement.

But seriously, I think you have an Adcom fetish. You might want to see someone about that.:p

    Hello Ben,
I have a question about my M7's and thought you might be able to help. I know this is not the forum, but I'm new here and could use the expertise of someone in the know. I have a bad tweeter in one of the enclosures and have ordered an RD0198 to replace it. Is it OK to replace just the bad one, or is it better to replace both? Thanks. Mike.

    Welcome to Club Polk.
You definitely want to have matched tweeters. Positively. Absolutely. Without a doubt;)

I bought it. I really like the Adcoms also. I was just messing with Ben. Great guy to deal with. We've been chatting since almost the day I began here. I've learned a lot from him and appreciate all he brings to this forum.

Why Adcom used such light cords on the early version Adcoms I'll never know. Great amp though.

Very true. If it were a something like a 555 I would offer to change it out at cost. It is 16ga. Which is fine for up to 10 amps.

Either way it wouldn't matter as it would never get hot enough to fail under a rated load....ever.

However, there's nothing like having an anaconda between your amplifier and the power source.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

actually upped mine (GFA 555) to 14/3 adding a chassis ground. Some work to it, but not too bad..
