Speaker Suggestions Again
I originally posted this back on December 27, 2007.
I decided to wait on buying the speakers everyone helped me chose which were the RTi10's, CSi5, and FXi3's. I saved up the cash and bought a new plasma TV. The problem is now I can't find the speakers I wanted. They are now replaced with the new model speakers. What should I upgrade these to? I really like the speakers I wanted to get because at the time they were all listed a reasonable prices. I feel like the new models are pricy because they are new.
Hello Polk Audio Community! I need some help with some speakers. I found this forum through AVS forum. After others there recommending I go with Polk Audio for my HT, I thought I join up and see what Polk Audio owners thought of what I selected. How do these speakers perform? I tried to go to the nearby Fry's to hear them but theres always someone in the booth when I get there. Fronts: RTi8's Center: CSi3 Surrounds: FXi3's Sub: Maybe Elemental Designs A2-250 or A2-300 (good reviews) Receiever: Maybe Onkyo TX-SR605 (popping noises & heat problems?) I've read through alot of posts on different forums and lots of people had this set up and were very happy with the performance. I'm not sure about the sub or receiver though. I read good reviews on the Elemental Designs sub. I read that it performs very well for the price. The Onkyo is another story. I read some owners threads that the Onkyo can produce popping noises and then theres the heat problem they say they have. Keep in my mind I haven't bought any of this at all. Simply because I haven't decided on a sub and receiver.

Wow you are completely right, it looks like those models just sold out for the new models...I have auditioned FXIa4's and they are extremely nice. So that would be your replacement for the surrounds. Looks like you can still pick up the CSi3 for a steal at JR.com

I am sure you know where these places are better than I but you do have this company down in TX somewhere.
I wonder if the fxi3 can be painted or not, but at that price I would compromise. I see that some rti8's and 12's can be found in TX but not the 10's, sorry unless you go to nevada or arizona, may be a good day trip. I can't stress in post to look at tweeter because these guys are authorized dealers of polk. Good luck.
Now you may ask is there a difference from thr RTI8's and 12's with skipping over the 10's.
Well there is a difference between a Trail-blazer and A Suburban but I'm happy in my Tahoe!Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

As you can see you can get last years model for half off, I like Yamaha myself for all the different DSP/sound fields. Others will disagree, but sometime you have to just demo the reciever and see if you like it, you can always take it back in 30 days.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

Thanks Kchill. If only they had the solid black speakers. I've seen the cherry speakers in person when I first started looking for speakers. But now I'm not so sure if they would fit in with everything else as everything is black.

Polk cherry finish is nice I love mine.

I'm going to Fry's after to work today to check out how the cherry looks again. If I can't find anything I'll look into some different speakers.
