LSiC and an Amp

I am currently running LSiC with Adcom GFA-5400 while the front LSi7 running with Adcom 5500. The sound from LSiC is too low compare to the front. I did playing around channel level from Receiver like -1db for front and +5db for center. I had used CSi3 and RTi4 and CSi3 seems louder even though it using amp from receiver. When I demo the LSi9 and LSi7 @J&R, LSi7 played louder on the same volume level. LSi9 and LSiC are the same characteristic? My question is Do I need to match the amp for Center and Front? Which amp would be the best for LSi? Do I need 200W/Ch? Any help would be appreciated.

The gain for those two amps is identical, so you should only have a difference if you're all the way at the top end of the volume knob.

Switch the amps for the LSiC and the LSi7 and see if the problem persists. If it does, then you probably have a placement issue or a problem with the source/processing.

If your receiver has a white noise function, use this to rule out the source/processing; if it's still a problem on white noise, then you need to adjust placement.

If it's not a problem on white noise, then the source has issues, or the processing setting that you're using isn't right.

The volume level is around -20 to -30db. I did switched the amps and it plays nice.
I have no idea what is white noise and don't think there is a function on Receiver.
I think I need to get the 3 channel amp. Any recommendations?

You need to get a calibration DVD and SPL meter... :)

It's a pretty easy problem to sort out.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I don't have that DVD, I did with pink noise. -20db on volume and 80db on meter. The center still sounds thin.

It should be. Do you mind telling me which Amp are you using for your LSi HT?

IIRC, people haven't been happy with the LSiC and think that was the reason. I am using LSi7 as a centre myself.

That's true. I was expecting crystal clear sound on LSiC than CSi3. Your HT looks nice btw. You could also remove the side of center LSi7 like McLoki's 7.

Is the surface piano gloss like on the top? With FP you don't want too much of shiny surface around, reflections are nasty especially if it is in the middle of the screen. On the 15's it's ok but even then I had to play with placement (in the expense of sound quality). One of the reasons why the room is painted with dark, matte colours. Even my wife commented on that when we installed my old projector to our friends house in a room with totally white walls.
