New plasma now or later?

I am thinking about buying a Samsung 42" plasma HPT4254 for $999.99. It is an 07 model. I was wondering if I should go ahead and get it because that seems like a great price. Or should I wait for the 08? The 07's are being closed out right now. The guy at CC said the 08's should be out soon. If I wait for the 08 will I have to pay alot more? Thanks.

    Prices keep going down. Pay less for better quality the longer you wait. If $999 is a closeout deal of some kind it might be worth it. I don't think 8th gen is supposed to be THAT much better than 7th gen at the $1000 pricepoint. (The Pioneer Kuro is a different story.. but those are going to be at least $3000).

    $1000 for a 42" plasma is still a good deal. Honestly if you like the way it looks just go for it.

    I have been impressed by the Samsung plasmas myself. I like them much more than the Panasonics that seem to be very popular.

    I would grab it for that price.

    Yeah, if youve got the cash then Id say get it. Samsung makes a very nice plasma and I actually prefer its image to the Pansonics at least in the showroom.

    Thanks for the advice guys. I think I am going to go for it. The CC guy tried to sell me on the 08 Panasonic but I just like Samsung better.
