Any Sony CX995 400 Disc Mega Changer owners out there?

I've read all the cons and it seems like half the folks out there who buy this 400 DVD/SACD/CD Mega Changer end up hating it. I'm thinking about buying a refurb unit from Sony for $250. Why? Just to get 300 DVD's off the shelf. Of course, I want it to actually play the DVD's instead of just sit there, broken. Strictly for DVD's.
Any feedbacks?

I have one:)
I like it:)
Works good:)
Super handy:)
All my disks are loaded, and not handled:)
Even plays SACD pretty decent:)
Use the COAX for DVD's not optical;)
I hate the time it takes to load, and it won't let you do anything till it reads the disk it is on when you turn it on:mad:
Still way faster than getting up, finding a disk, loading a disk, and playing a disk;)Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

How are you managing the movie titles? I've read somewhere there's a third party app for it? -

I just hookup a keyboard, and type away. The OSD has a nice title display that can be broken down to different sub menus easily. A push of the folder button, and there you are. All your movies, music, and more. Check out the manual online if your curious. Its a nice unit. Movies look very good, and sound great via coax. I have no regrets what so ever about buying this unit.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. I have one of the Sony 400 disc players and it's hardly ever used. I'd rather rip the CD's into a HD and get a media centre player (PS3 is one of the options). That way you'll have faster access to music, shuffle doesn't have annoying disc change in between and playlists are a lot easier to compile. Just my $0.02.
Sorry, I read the DVD part but my brain didn't register it. Long workout and sauna does that... -
I use a 400 Sony CD player just music.
Like it, would recommend it, and would buy it again. Would I say it's the best CD player I ever heard hell no, but sounds pretty good to me.

I am so on the edge with...
Do I get a better CD player, and loose the convenience of my 200 disk CD changer, and 400 disk DVD changer, or do I get a decent DAC, and keep the transports? A Polkie offered me a gracious offer when I was fairly local to him, but I missed out because I was sick. He was going to let me try an Adcom 700 DAC. I am still kicking myself for not at least taking him up on that offer. I just didn't want to feel like a mooching Polkie, because I don't have the money to actually buy it at the moment. I have the Outlaw 990 as the DAC now, but too many Cd's are just too edgy, and don't have the punch through the Outlaw.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. I had a 200 disk cd changer and liked it a lot. I am now trying out a music server Okie lent me and finding music has never been easier. Since servers large enough to hold a lot of DVD's are very expensive, I can see myself getting a large dvd changer and using the server for music only. Load times for watching a 2 hour movie are no big deal, but can be a pain for switching disks or songs every 5-10 minutes. I would recommen trying an outboard dac and as long as the Sony transport is quiet, it should smooth out the edgy cd's. I had a Bel Canto Dac 1.1 and it was really nice.

I have a 985v. I love it. I have a 3 year old so I don't have to store all the movie cases around.
The load time is not bad at all.(to me anyway.)
What I did was write down all the cd's and movies as I inserted them. I then typed them out and laminated the pages and WHA LAH:eek: From the bottom it looks like a steep incline, From the top another down hill slope of mine. But I know the equilibrium's there! .."Faith No More"

My thoughts exactly and as Ben does, I used the keyboard to type in disc info, screen captures to associate disc etc. Nice unit, a tad bit slow. Sold mine along time ago since going to HD DVD and Blu.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

I appreciate all the feedback and will order a unit soon or my wife will order it since my birthday is a couple of months away.
Asking you guys a "should I buy it?" question is like a crack addict asking a crack forum if he needs more crack. Why yes, depending on the quality of the crack. I love this forum.
Thanks, ya'll.
