Searched for this but had no luck ... even Googled.

What is the crossover frequency of a Monitor 10? Stock with SL2000?

I wanna say 3000 Hz, but don't quote me on that. I know there's a small section of overlap.

I believe it has two 12uf caps in series in the HF circuit, so it would appear to be around 1200hz.

Wow .. I was guessing it would have been somewhere between 1500-2500Hz !

That does sound low to me too. I could be wrong, but according to the caps in the crossover and it being a 4ohm speaker, that's what it appears to be.

    +1

    8ohm with 12uF is ~1200hz

And trust me, if you would see the specs of the MW's you wouldnt want to pass them any higher than 1200hz

Two 12 uF caps in series = 6 uF .

4 ohm will crossover at a higher freq than 8 ohm with the same components.

I'm at work so can't double check the actual freq, but if you can link a schematic, I'll do it later.

Misread previous quote. The first cap is a bypass cap, not a series cap. So the HP is a second order with 1, 12uF cap.

And I believe the tweeter is ~ 8ohms

I briefly looked at the Monitor 10 crossover: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38755

1200 Hz sounds about right but it's one of those designs that's best tested instead of measured.

    That poor tweeter.
