Polks are nowhere to be found out here. I'm wondering if I'm the only one on Island with Polks.

What are you doing in Okinawa? US Military? I've been through Kadena a time or twelve.

I was stationed at Kadena and Naha in 1970-1971. The US still contrilled the island, and stereo equipment was the hot item.
Back then, the Pioneer CS-88A and CS-99A's ruled.

Troy,
I bought the Pioneer CS-77A's in Okinawa in 1970. I have always regreted selling them. Sometimes I see some of the CS series on ebay and get tempted to pick up a pair. I always thought mine sounded great. Later,

yes, in military. this is my second time around here. Back in 1990 I purchased my first stereo system here when they use to have the big stereo sales every october at Camp Foster. I bought some large Infinity speakers and a Yamaha/ Denon setup. Now, I can't find anything out here.

I bought my SDAs in Okinawa in '86.
Polk and JBL were the competing names in loudspeakers at the time.
