This is a case of way to many pre-amps and not enough systems.
Up for sale a near pristine example of the entry level Dodd pre that everyone gushes over. Excellent dynamics and clarity as well as ease of use.

Seen and used at Ted's big bash Polkfest this past fall.

Looking at $OLD shipped/insured (Prefer check or M.O...I don't do the Paypal thing, sorry) Comes with a pair of JJ Tesla 6922 tubes (very low hours on these).

Pictures will be posted this evening or tuesday depending on camera availability.
Reply in this thread if interested, followed by a pm. Thanks!

I don't recall who asked me privately about a tube pre-amp but this is exactly what you need to get your feet wet.....and it's a benchmark for me personally. I loved the one I had ages ago.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Why do they not make em anymore? If they were so good sounding, which I'm sure they are.. wouldn't Dodd wanna make another couple hundred more of them? Even sell them for twice the price of the original, and still be a good deal.

I've never understood when a popular product ceases production, for whatever reason.

Gary Dodd is a small one man operation, making audio gear one piece at a time. I think he tried to partner up with a bigger company and it just didn't work for whatever reason. I think he has gone on to other types of audio gear.

By the way. How much did this one sell for?

Which included shipping, 3 additional set of tubes, and interconnects. It was an ok deal.
