Gentlemen: I would appreciate your expertise.....currently building dedicated HT in basement 17x26 with no windows and 7ft ceilings. Main use will be for movies/gaming.
After researching/reading (overload) I have decided to purchase the following:(with modest budget). However before i do, I would like to get your 2cents worth. thx.
center: CSiA6
sides: FXiA6
rears: FXiA6
fronts: older Sony 3way towers (to be replaced in future but still sound good)
receiver: looking at the Marantz SR5002
sub: unknown at this time. budget is around $500 for this option however it has been suggested that it will not be enough $ to get the desired effect for a large room.....
currently have Mitsubishi HC4900 and an Elite Cinetension electric screen.
Any suggestions on changes/comments
How are the FXi's. My local stereo store did not have them so i was unable to hear them personally.
thx, any advice would be appreciated.

From what I can see is that you have a good start. I would re-look a few things.... First instead of 2 sets of FXi A6's go with the A4's and only one set. Then research and find a nice deal on some RTi8's or 10's. Followed by a HSU sub in your price range! All this and stay with your which is excellent and you should come close to what you are looking at spending but instead of a half built system, you will be complete!:DThere are two types of people in the world, The Ones that do, and the ones that wish they had! What are you?
MARANTZ 7002
RTi8'S
CSi A6
FXi A4'S
HSU VTF 3 - MK3 (IT'S HERE)
PANASONIC 50 IN PLASMA
PANASONIC DMP-BD30 -
thx, makes sense.....proper floors are obviously more important at this point and I can always pick up sides in the future.
what brand is HSU? -

I have a VTF-2 MK2 and recommend it. The VTF-2 MK3 should be about right for that room and is $499 new. -
i would say
center: CSiA6
sides: FXiA6
rears: FXiA6
fronts: older Sony 3way towers (to be replaced in future but still sound good)
receiver: looking at the Marantz SR5002
is a perfect setup -
From older threads, many people have recommended one set of bipoles for sides and RTi4/6's for rears.
