Hey All,

Clearning up some space. House shopping and I'd like to be lean and mean by the time to move so selling ahead of time.

Still Available:


EVS (electronic visionary systems) Stepped Attenuators, 8/10, $100 shipped

Two stepped attenuators for passive hookup of both stereo channels. EVS has long been a leader in attenuators. Their new version "ultimate attenuators" are very similar and go for $350. I'm not even sure how to hook them up, but should be pretty simple to figure out.

    If the pads were XLR, I'd hit em. Depending on the values of the resistors (can't read em from the pic) and the output level of your source, you could go direct to amp with these inline. NO PRE needed for anything tween .7V and 2V

    The original owner of the attenuators ran them from his DAC to his amp with excellent results, supposedly.

    I'm not sure of the value of the attenuators cuz there isn't much info out there. The new ones sell for $350, so $150 seemed pretty fair. If I'm way off on the price, someone nicely PM me your thoughts :)

    Yeah, basically they are able to perform gain/volume control without mucking up the signal path. They are even more passive than passive preamps :)

    It's as direct as direct can get. There is nothing in the signal path other than a resistor. Your speakers most likely have an exponentially more complex capacitive/inductive/resistive network than these stepped 'pads'/attenuators. You could make a cool box for these out of wood or aluminum to match your other stuff too. Put your own name on it and tell your friends you made it:D

    The only sacrifice is you only have what appears to be 12-16 volume settings. Small price for an unmolested signal.
