7Cs vs DCM TF600

I'm considering buying a pair of DCM TF600s that are in pretty good shape. My delima is that I'll have to sell my pair of pristine 7Cs to make room for the DCMs to keep the wife happy, not a $ issue somuch as she just largely thinks I'm a littel nuts when it comes to audio stuff.

I listened to the DCMs, and they sound pretty nice and would fit into my home theater space better. My concern is parts support, and just how much better, if at all, the DCMs might be compared to the 7Cs. It's really tough to go to some else's house and make a thorough comparison.

So, I'm wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with the two speaker types that could provide some insight. Yeah, I know I should move out of the wife and keep the 7Cs, but that would upset my 3 kids, and put a serious dent in any future audio funds (say alimony), besides, I like her at lot too.

All I can say is never get rid of what you already have (especially if you like it) until you are sure what you replace it with is satisfactory. The best solution is to get the DCM's and compare them to your current 7's and then sell whichever one you like less.

I've regretted getting rid of a piece of gear to replace with with another and then wish I had never gotten rid of the original piece.

Skip the DCM. They are fun to hear but not to own.

I own both and like both. That being said both are in storage. Good speakers but not great IMO. Again, if you can do a direct comparison that's the best way to go.

I also have a pair of DQ10s. How would you rate the DCMs in comparison? Are the DCMs a lot of trouble?

The DQ10s are a much better speaker to my ears. The 600s seem to need tweeter replacements quite often. Replacements, both the tweeter and woofer, can be purchased through Parts express. I should say they were available a year or so ago. Don't expect much help from DCM customer service.

The DQ10 is a legendary loudspeaker. I have a pair that's going nowhere soon.

Yeah, I'm keeping my DQ10s for a stereo system in another room. 'Getting ready to recap them. I run the DQ10s with a CJ PV2 and Denon POA4400 monoamps. 'Doubt I'll ever part with them. Also need to retube and recap the PV2. Noticed that ebay listed a couple of DQ1s and a DQ LP (active crossover) recently.

The 7Cs are part of an Onkyo home theater system. I'm happy with the 7Cs, just always checking CL for used deals and found the DCMs, but don't want trouble or something I can't move later. Polks seem reliable and easy to find parts for.
