edited March 2008 in For Sale (FS) Classifieds
With Blu-Ray winning the war the wife wants me to add a Blu-Ray player upstairs. Well before I can add a second player, I have to sell one. Up for sale is my mint, Denon DVD-3910 player. I won't go into all the details of what this player is capable of but the unit was purchased February 18, 2005 from Tweeters along with the extended 5-year warranty so there is still just under 2 years left on the warranty. Asking price is "SOLD" to dpowell. Payment accepted will be Paypal + 3.5% or Money order. Picture attached sucks so I will take better pictures this afternoon. Anyone interested shoot me a PM. Forgot to mention I have the original box, manual, remote, etc. I will also give a copy of the receipt from where I purchased the unit.

Here is the spec sheet from Denon's website in case someone knows nothing about this player which I would find it hard to believe.

That's a great price on a great player. Good luck with the sale, although you might regret letting it go :)

Grimster is rock solid to deal with. I bought my Denon DVD-2900 from him last year around this time. I swear the thing was brand new!

    Deal with confidence!

PSOVLSK, I'm sure there will be some strings attached :D, just haven't heard what they are yet.

John, this unit is in just as good if not better condition than the 2900 I sold you. This unit, if it's lucky, may get used once a month due to the family and I watching movies downstairs all the time.

Okay guys/gals, this player has to go before I purchase a new Blu-ray player. I've reduced the price to see if it moves along but this is as low as I'll go before moving it to Audiogon. Once it goes to Audiogon it will be listed as $450 shipped so now is the time to jump on it. Don't wanna sound rude but this player has to go before Monday, I have a killer deal on the new Denon 2500 waiting for me.

I can't seem to give this unit away. I may just stick it in my H/T room and use it as a dedicated SACD/CD player if no one soon buys it.

I have the DVD-3800. How much difference will I notice in audio and video playback by upgrading to this unit? Is there a noticeable difference between watching a DVD with the component output vs the HDMI output since this isn't an up-converting player?

Well, from looking at the spec sheets of both units here are some of the differences I see between the two.

    - 720p/1080i scaling
    - Dual 12-bit, 216-MHz Video D/A converts compaired to 12-bit, 108 MHz
    - SACD capability

These are just to name a couple. Here are the spec sheets for both units for you to compair.

The 3910 is very well regarded for its audio quality. I don't know much about the 3800, but I could be happier with my 3910.

PM Sent. BTW, now I may need to upgrade my amp so that I can take advantage of Denon Link and HDMI switching. Anyone out there have one they want to sell? :D

I received the player in MINT condition today! Had to give violin lessons tonight so I haven't had a chance to put it through its paces just yet however just enjoying SACD for the first time was awesome.
