I just got an Adcom GFA5300, felt the sound is very warm and sexy, much better than that voice amplifier such as Russound.
I am using a pair of RTi35. I like it very much, but I still think upgrade it. Any speaker ranging 400~600 can beat it?

Sounds like a good start, instead of changing to different speakers you could add a powered subwoofer for another octave.

Since you say you enjoy the sound and just got the Adcom amp run it a while. Experiment with room treatment and speaker placement.

    What preamp are you using?

It is Chinglish. I am glad that you can read it.:(:o

The amplifier has only two output for left and right speakers, How can I connect the subwoofer?

You would have to use the speaker level inputs of the subwoofer. Amp - Subwoofer - Speaker.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

If so, how much power of the subwoofer is good for Adcom 5300 and RTi35. for example, which one is better, PSW303, PSW404 or PSW505?

Subwoofer power has nothing to do with the Adcom and all three of those subwoofers stink. I would suggest the new DSW series(400 - 600).

    How big is your room?

The Polks DSW series sounds like a great recommendation to match up your monitors. If you have to keep it closer to the 200 price and aren't in a hurry.
    These look interesting.
It seems there is a shift towards more performance for less money happening in powered subs...but all the new units are on waiting lists or slated for near future arrival.

    My room is about 14'x14'.
I have a question. For example, my bookshelf speaks frequencies response from 39~26KHz, a subwoofer works around 40~150Hz. Would it causes the voice sounds more loudly at the overlap frequencies than the others?

As long as there are no phase issues, under 80hz, no. I would not run a sub over 100 hz unless it was paired with very small bookshelves.

Polk spec page lists the RT35i with -3dB Limit 50Hz. Don't Know how that works out in a 14x14 room.
A sub that can get 20-ish in there would be nice.

You're going to need a powerful sub in a square shaped room.

Is there some filters in the subwoofer the split the frequencies, allowing the low frequencies to go to subwoofer, the middle to high to bookshelf speakers?

Most powered subs have an internal active crossover with settings to 40...some even 30hz. I'd let your Polks run full range and augment the lowest octave with the powered sub.
You may get louder feeding the Polks a crossed over signal with less bass, via a preamp processor with an active crossover, I just think that would reduce that Polks sound quality.
Simpler is usually better IMO. What Preamp are you are using?

There are passive subs that have a filter network which can crossover a set of monitors but at lower prices that crossover will probably be of poor quality in comparision to your monitors.

Most the budget powered subs I've seen have line and speaker level inputs only.

    Hi Music Joe:

It looks like I need to do more homework. In fact, I am playing APE music from my PC. The sound card has a sub-out, but I have never used it. Now I am considering to buy a DAC or processor to enhance the sound quality. I don't think I need a preamplifier.
