I took a couple of pics of the home theater. Some folks here like pics so here goes.
I've got a little bit more cleanup to do with hiding wires and some trim work but so far so good. On the left is the svs pb-13 ultra, 1.2, equipment (see sig), two lsic centers, klipsch sub and the other 1.2. The two rears are lsifx not shown. The acoustical ceiling also has two inches of insulation above with an additional air gap of 8" to the ceiling joist. The room dimensions are 16'0" X 30'0" and 7'6' high. Roughly 3600 cu. ft.

Dude, that is Bad ASP!

Sal, not sure what you mean longwise. The wall they're on is the 16'0". I never tried them facing across the room width wise. Behind the seating there is a pool table and the rear speaks are on the wall facing each other about
3'0" off the far end wall. Movie effects are pretty cool.Home Theater

Nice setup
I'd say that about the sub! A sub must be bigger then the speakers!
For a few reasons, I have been thinking about putting in acoustical tile for my ceiling. Have you had any vibration or buzzing problems?Home Theatre: Epson 5020ub, Elite Screen Sable Frame 100", Onkyo 818, Oppo BDP-103, Tivo Series 3, Xbox 360, Sealed Dual Sound Splinter RL-p 15" DIY sub powered by Behringer EP2500 with FBD, QSC RMX1400 powering LSi15, LSiC, LSiFX sides, and Lsi7 for the back, Technics SL-1200M3D -

Ron P... black electrical tape is way too expensive, I was planning on using duct tape.... Hey I kinda like all those pretty little lights.
Fumofu... No buzzing yet. I don't know if the weight of the insulation above helps "load" them or if the fact that I used screws to fasten the perimeter track to the wall headers. The screws were actually a lot easier for me and it seemed to cinch down the track really well to the wall headers.
Thanks everyone for your comments.... it is much appreciated.Home Theater

FWIW.. when I planned this room as the kids rubber room (basement) years ago I decided to use 1/2 " marine plywood for the walls instead of drywall. I did this because of the play characteristics of boys. I also wainscoted the lower half so that it would stand up to slap shots etc. You treat the ply the same as drywall and tape the joints. The main purpose of the dropped ceiling was to have access to the ceiling space for speaker wiring and easy repair (tile replacement) when someone dented it with a cue ball, puck, cue stick, hockey stick.....you get the picture. I did place speaker drops in all the corners as well as the middle of each wall. The conduit just stubs straight up and the wire is easily fished. It may not be perfect but it is really easy to change up the room.Home Theater

You used 1/2" marine plywood instead of drywall?!? Talk about a price difference.
Sweet Room by the way.
Can I come over too? -
Yeah, when's the open house!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
-
With 5 kids our house is always open. Thanks again guys for all of your kind remarks.
I decided on the marine plywood as it is a basement and the thought of continuous repair kinda convinced me it wasn't a bad way to go. I think I bought 25 sheets which if the difference was 15.00 a sheet the add cost was only $325.00. For that money it was well worth it. The walls show almost no wear.Home Theater
