Picked up a pair of these today to give a try. Going to move them to the sides when I get some longer speaker cables...so far I really like them. The bass, vocals and instruments are really pronouced. These speakers really shine on the Jolida 4 ohm taps for a 6 ohm speaker. They have the nicest grills I've ever seen on a speaker, they are solid, probably more solid than many speakers. Going to refinish the solid wood stands this week and stain them a cherry or maple(to match the rack) color. The stands also come with removable spikes.

I'm not familar with that model, but Quart has always had an appealing midrange to me - compare to B&W, etc - maybe even a touch of LS 3/5 personality.

If they are still connected to your house, it might take much longer Ricardo....did you even think of that!?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The sound is DEFINITELY suprising to say the least. However, that being said, I feel i need to move them out more away from the rack to really get an opinion. If I do that though then ill be using coat hangers to make up the rest of the distance till Wednesday.

Ricardo, thanks. Looking foward to them.

Face, going to give the silvers a try but I don't think my gear is anywhere good enough to warrant the price tag those silvers carry. I'll try though.

You old speakers look like toys beside them.

NHT toys? There is no such animal. Short of the f-up after the Recoton buy out and some mylar tweeters in a few, scarce models - NHT is about as solid (and American) as it comes.

No toys to be seen here.

    Cheers,

Amazing speakers BaggedLanced. I'm glad they're working with the tubes. May I ask where you got a pair of those? I've been looking for something like that for a while and Quarts are hard to find.

I'm the suck at photos but here are the grills. About an inch and a half thick and solid wood. The mesh is integrated into the grill as you can see. Really well made.

The first pic looks like scratches but it's actually just swirls marks from whoever used to clean them. I started using some automotive scratch remover with a buffer on the other grill and it seems to be taking out the scratches nicely.

    just sold my NHT's. ...

No crap??!! Figured you'd at least hold on to them for a while longer. You did such a nice job with them. I think you should go for Joe's CRS+ and try the SDA route, not too big, not too small;).

I am totally unfamiliar with Quart home audio. Only know their car speaks which are very good.

To be honest, I had no intention of selling the NHT's. However, the guy that came to buy the salamander rack said "ohh i like those speakers, how much?" and that was the end of that....SOLD.

So far I'm really digging the Quarts, the quote "there's no replacement for displacement" definitely applies. These speakers have significantly more bass, feel more foward, and their presence just overwhelms what the NHT's could do. We'll see how long they last. I have a bad habit of selling things...:o
